For 2016, the blog is going through a change and will become a weekly learning calendar for people interested in mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and educational leadership. Each day of the week will be dedicated to a different topic to help you learn something new.
The new schedule by day of the week is below:
Practice Skills and Activities
Daily skill practices and further information to help you grow in your meditation practice or increase your emotional intelligence skills.
Many virtues have a near enemy. These near enemies masquerade as the actual skill and are often unhealthy or unhelpful in the long term. Near enemies create a false separation. A true virtue creates a closeness to others or even your best self.
Word of the Week
This day is dedicated to key terms and definitions to help you gain a better understanding and increase your mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and educational leadership vocabulary.
Just for Inspiration
Sometimes we just need inspiration, to see the world through another’s lens, to feel the emotion connected to our work, or to find motivation to keep us moving forward. Wednesdays are about positivity, education, and encouragement.
Educational Leadership and Communication
We will focus on cultural awareness, instructional design, communication, and other important areas to help out leaders in the field of education.
Flaws in Thinking
There are some common errors in thinking (more formally called cognitive distortions and biases) that can get in the way of healthy and helpful thinking. Each Friday, you will learn a new term to help in seeing your own thinking more clearly.
Documentaries, movies, short talks, and longer videos await on Saturdays. Take the time to learn more about topics and ideas related to mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness.
