Cultural Literacy: The 5 Key Differences Between Cultures
Many people are fascinated by the many different cultures found throughout the world. This class reviews the stages of cultural understanding (otherwise known as culture shock) and gives direct examples to help participants see the key differences between world cultures, broader cultures within the U.S., and the class participants’ own personal cultural filters.

Mindfulness Meditation: Special 4 Week Class
Mindfulness is the core skill that centers around your ability to be fully present in the current moment. Mindfulness increases awareness of your body and emotions, and provides greater insight into how your thoughts and mind work. Merged with Emotional intelligence training, you learn additional skills on how to better identify, work with, and consciously create your emotional responses.
Mindfulness in Love & Communication: Afternoon Retreat |
Love and communication are two of the biggest challenges for a lot of people. Without additional training or even ways of seeing, many people stay stuck – knowing they need to do something different but just not knowing what that is. In this afternoon retreat, we take the time to do a deep dive into who you are, how you are relating, and work on building some fundamental mindfulness skills around love and communication.
The 4 Components of a Spiritual Life: A Workshop Series |
Different spiritual traditions all (mostly) follow or use similar methods to help their practitioners come to a better understanding of the world and of themselves. This class works to provide the underlying tools for the four components of any spiritual practice (meditation, contemplation, prayer, and action) and, though we may talk about the origin of the practice from inside its religious tradition, it's not a religious class. It's really a tools based class that can be used by anyone looking to grow or examine their life in a more meaningful way.
Meditation: An Intro to Different Methods |
Meditation is one of the more powerful ways to manage stress in our lives and increase our self-awareness. In this class, we talk about meditation's role in our daily life and have the opportunity to practice many different types of meditation so participants can try out several different forms.
Deep Dive: Lovingkindness Meditation |
Lovingkindness Meditation, at its core, cultivates feelings of love and compassion for ourselves, the people we are close to, strangers, the people we have strong difficulties with, and the world as a whole. It's a core part of meditation practice and it's one people don't often realize they need until they see the benefits of working with it.

The 10 Beliefs That Hold You Back |
The ability to see clearly how your thoughts influence your reality is an important part of leading a happier, more fulfilling life. So much depends on what and how you think. Through examining the top 10 limiting beliefs people hold through group discussions, games, and fun activities, you learn to see the ways your own thinking and beliefs about how the world works is either helping or hindering you.
Mindfulness Meditation: Afternoon Retreat |
Unplug from technology and spend the afternoon learning more about mindfulness meditation and its practice. In this afternoon retreat, you learn the core principles of mindfulness and loving-kindness meditation. You also have the opportunity to see how mindfulness can be applied to your everyday life.
How to Keep Emotional Control During Conflict |
In this workshop, you will learn the basic emotional intelligence skills that are the most helpful when dealing with conflict or stressful situations. By covering and practicing how to best respond in stressful situations, you will learn your own stress response style, how and when to be assertive, and learn a technique to help you keep your emotional control when someone pushes your buttons.
Meditation for Couples: Time Honored Techniques
Different meditative traditions have specific breath techniques, postures, and awareness practices designed to increase the emotional intimacy between partners as well as contribute to each other's personal growth. In this class, couples come together to explore and have the opportunity to practice several of the most tried and tested techniques.

Hand Sew Your Own Meditation Cushion |
In this class, you get to join with a small group of sewers -- new and old -- to create your very own meditation cushion and learn the basics of mindfulness. If you've wanted to create your own meditation cushion but needed the motivation or just someone to show you how, join us for the afternoon. The fabric and cotton-stuffing are included in the cost of the class.
Candlelight Meditation: A Guided Evening |
In this class, we focus on meditation's role in stress reduction and creating calm. Using old and new practices, students get a chance to work through four different meditations designed to let the day go and shift their focus more to the positive. By starting off with tea and using candlelight, the class is really about self-care, inner connection, and finding a temporary sanctuary from the outside world.
Sew Your Own Yoga or Meditation Shawl
The yoga or meditation shawl is a wool blanket size draping garment. The shawls are often used for warmth and to create a feeling of protection. Traditionally, they are worn to help symbolically shift your mindset during your practice. For some, they are often compared to being like portable tabernacles and temples. For others, they are mostly about the fashion. Whether the garment will be used for fashion or creating that mental shift when you engage your practice is up to you.
Working with Dreams: Special 4-Week Class
Working with dreams can be a larger part of a meditator's practice depending on the tradition they’ve been brought up in. I am fortunate enough to be part of a tradition that uses dreams as part of the path. This four-week class is about using your dreams to achieve greater self-awareness, see more clearly into the issues in your life, and even to reach different meditative states while you are sleeping. Topics covered are: meditation and dream recall, dream interpretation, dream yoga, and lucid dreaming.

How to Survive a Cocktail Party |
You receive the invitation and quickly delete it thinking, "Ugh. But I won't know anyone there." But what if that event or social occasion holds the key to that great new job, new love relationship, or new friend you have a lot in common with. 40-45% of the population identifies as shy. If you are among them, you may need a little extra help knowing how to take on new social situations.
