MINDFULNESS MEDITATION: DAY RETREAT
Sierra Foothills, California In this beginner-friendly day retreat, unplug from technology and spend the day learning the basics of mindfulness meditation, learn its role in dealing with conflict, and have the opportunity for an extended sitting and walking meditation period.
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Registration & Arrival at 9:30 a.m. We begin promptly at 10) Location: Woolman at Sierra Friends Center 13075 Woolman Lane, Nevada City, CA Mindfulness Meditation is used to increase awareness of our bodies and emotions, and provides the tools for greater insight into how our minds work. The morning session covers the basics of the meditation practice and the afternoon session provides additional mindfulness work around forgiveness and letting go, gives an extended period for outdoor practice, and then concludes with loving-kindness meditation. |

This day retreat is at Woolman at Sierra Friends Center. We will do the instruction portions inside the Meeting House, a spacious, high-vaulted ceiling building on the main campus (shown above). During the extended sitting and walking portions of the day, participants will be able to explore the site's 236 acres of forest trails, meadows, and fields. Weather permitting, we will spend time both indoors and outdoors.
Note: Lunch will be provided. You have the option of bench or meditation cushion for the extended sittings. Please bring a pen and notebook for note taking.
